UPDATE: Police investigating body found in Osceola cemetery as homicide - WNDU-TV

WNDU) - A homicide investigation is underway after the remains of a woman were found Thursday night on the property of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Osceola. St. Joseph County investigators told NewsCenter 16 a person looking for deer antler sheds came across the skeletal remains and called authorities. The remains were located above ground near a walkway at the cemetery. An autopsy was performed Friday, but how the woman died remains a mystery. A forensic anthropologist was requested to perform further tests and hopefully determine an exact cause and manner of death. "The way the body was found and where…is why we're investigating," St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Cmdr. Mike Grzegorek said. A woman who was at the cemetery when Metro Homicide started its investigation said the discovery makes her nervous. "To find something like that anywhere would kind of make you nervous and make you really wonder, you know?" Mary said. "No, I'm not scared as to just driving through or whatever, but I probably won't be coming back late in the evenings or late afternoons like I normally do." The cemetery manager told NewsCenter 16 he was not allowed to comment, but cemetery and personnel are said to be cooperating with authorities. This is an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Homicide at 574-235-5009. ...
